The Rt Hon Baroness Anelay of St Johns DBE, UK Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN, attended a Prince’s Trust International event today in Bridgetown.
Prince’s Trust International is a youth charity recently established in Barbados with the aim to help disadvantaged young people on the island gain vital skills to move into education, training or work.
The Trust, formally launched last November in Malta by its President HRH The Prince of Wales, has partnered in Barbados with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for the first pilots of the “Get Into” employability programme.
Baroness Anelay met with young people taking part in the “Get Into Hospitality” programme currently under way and with young people who are about to start the “Get Into Logistics” course.
Baroness Anelay said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Barbados and witness first-hand how our two countries are working together to address a range of global challenges. I was particularly pleased to meet the young people participating in the Prince’s Trust International Get Into programme.”
