Prince’s Trust International, which formally launched in November 2015, is already working in eight countries across the globe (including Canada, Australia and India), where employability, entrepreneurship and personal development programmes are being run in conjunction with local partners.
In Greece, Prince’s Trust International will be delivering employability and entrepreneurship programmes designed for young people who are currently unemployed.
The event, which took place on 26th April 2017, was an opportunity for Prince’s Trust International to meet with ambassadors, local business leaders and members of local NGOs and charities. It was attended by Prince Pavlos and members of his family. Prince Pavlos is the Chairman of Prince’s Trust International’s Global Advisory Board.
Lloyd Dorfman CBE, Chairman of Prince’s Trust International, who also attended the event said: “The Prince’s Trust in the UK has existed for over 40 years now. In that time, it has developed an extraordinary expertise in developing and implementing programmes tailored to the needs of young people.
We are very aware that we cannot simply replicate what we have done in the UK, as the needs and aspirations of young people in other countries can be different to those of young people in the UK. That is why we are committed to work in Greece with local partners as elsewhere, to deliver our programmes in the most effective way, so as to ensure that many young Greeks can move into education, training or work”
H.E. Ms Kate Smith CMG said: “We were very proud to host the launch of Prince’s Trust International in Greece. We are, at the Embassy, committed to developing strong ties between the UK and Greece and working together on opportunities for young people. The unemployment rate for young people in Greece is over 45%. Prince’s Trust International offers high quality and tested programmes to help young people find a job or start their own business. It is a welcome addition, I am sure, to all the initiatives which are already being rolled out by the government, the private and the third sectors.”
As it launches in Greece, Prince’s Trust International is looking for new partners. Employers or funders interested in getting involved with The Trust to support young people in Greece, please contact Anaily Castellanos, Development Manager: firstname.lastname@example.org
